VITTOZ PARTNERSHIP
Chartered Architects Design Consultants
We have used the services of Heritage Tiling on a number of projects, of varying size and complexity, over a period of
about four years. On all occasions, we have found them to be a conscientious and skilled team, working as they do in
a highly specialised field, usually at a critical and highly sensitive stage in any contract.
Under such circumstances, we have found Mr. Sinnott's advice on Encaustic floors to be of great assistance,
both in the refurbishment of existing traditional tiling, and in the design of new layouts. He has restored for us a very
handsome Victorian geometric floor, intelligently taking up the more damaged parts, and relaying the original border
around a recessed matwell etc. Thereby liberating sufficient spare tiles for patch repairs elsewhere on the same floor.
He has also laid a completely new floor to our computer generated design, in reproduction tiles, giving us his very
useful input at the design stage, which meant that the floor was subsequently laid between other trades in record time .
We have also completed a number of kitchen and bathroom projects, in some cases where the project budget limited resources;
we found Mr. Sinnott to be equally co-operative and resourceful under such circumstances.
With regard to mural and mosaic work, Mr. Sinnott designed and executed for us a most striking mural which was
carried out under the added pressure of a television crew, when we were renovating a Victorian house for Granada's
Housestyle programme.
Yours sincerely,
J.M. Vittoz

The following reference is provided in our role as architects and client's agent for listed building consent purposes for the
first phase of re-servicing of the Whitworth Hall. The client was the Victoria University of Manchester.
The contract administrator was S.I. Sealy (Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineers.)
The project required repairs to a Victorian 2* listed mosaic floor and replacement of a number of decorative wall tiles.
Heritage Tiling were proposed by the main contractor and were acceptable to the City of Manchester conservation officer
overseeing the works. Heritage Tiling executed these works carefully with a complete respect for the historic fabric.
The company worked on subsequent phases and are about to work for the same client repairing a Victorian caustic tiled floor.
We have no hesitation in recommending the company based on the quality of work executed for our client.
Yours sincerely

Heritage Tiling and Restoration Company have recently restored the mosaic floor and wall tiling, as part of a
larger restoration scheme to Ashton Central Library, an impressive grade 2 listed building. Their work was
carried out efficiently and to a high conservation standard.
In February this year, Heritage Tiling were invited to outline their work as part of a seminar
on 'Specialist Contractors' which was held for the Greater Manchester Conservation Officers Group and other
interested parties. The seminar included a visit to the restoration work carried out at the Library and that carried out by
Heritage Tiling, and Restoration was well received by the Group and considered of a high standard.
Yours faithfully,
T.L. McBurney (for Borough Planning Officer)
